![]() Jeremy Gordon WalkerCleantech Startup Strategist Jeremy Walker is a British technology startup executive, who relocated to California's Silicon Valley in 1994 to set up US operations for Softworld, the well-known British software conference and event organiser. Following the successful sale of the company in 1998, he was appointed North American VP of Marketing for Agresso, a leading Norwegian ERP software developer. There he was tasked with launching the company and product into the USA, competing against giant incumbents such as Oracle, PeopleSoft and JD Edwards. He then joined a web development firm as COO, and after the dotcom bubble collapsed he began advising early stage cleantech startups; mostly companies with viable technologies and huge market opportunities, but hampered by limited business and marketing abilities. An example is KiteShip Corp www.kiteship.com which develops, markets and sells large traction kites for commercial shipping to help them reduce fuel consumption and emissions. As interim CEO, he achieved widespread buzz in the investment community and media, and steered the company to a win in the 2006 California Clean Tech Open, widely regarded as the "Academy Awards" for the cleantech industry. He is currently acting as the volunteer PR & Marketing Chair for this year's CCTO competition. Educated at Harrow and at Imperial College, Jeremy is a serial entrepreneur, public speaker and a lifelong ocean racing sailor. Back to Catapult Speakers page |
